BromBeck Hockey Club – February column

Bromley and Beckenham Ladies 1s’ good form has continued with them currently being undefeated in their last nine games, a run that has seen them topping the table by four clear points at the time of writing.

A 7-2 win over Cambridge City which included hat-tricks by Lola Pastrana and Charlotte Ridout being the most recent highlight.

The 2s have been a little inconsistent of late but a win against Redbridge and Ilford has helped to consolidate their mid-table position.

The 3s difficult season has continued but it’s encouraging to see so many juniors giving their all every week and being well supported by the more experienced members of the team.

Both the 4s and the 5s are looking to push for a top four finish, under the strong leadership of Rachel Barnett and Mandy Hoad respectively. A 6-0 win for the 5s over Burnt Ash being the pick of the recent results.

The Over 35s team are in the middle of an excellent National Cup run, beating a strong Wapping side 2-1 in the last round and facing Jersey in the last 16 on February 24 (fortunately a home draw).
