Cat lovers rejoice – A festival that celebrates all things feline is coming to a Beckenham park later this summer.

Catfest 2019, a one-day only event will take place on Saturday, June 29 at Beckenham Place Park.

The day-and-night festival for cat lovers will showcase a range of cat-related products, books, cat films, an art show, live music, cat-themed cocktails and vegan street food, along with meet-and-greets with feline superstars and inspiring talks from renowned writers and animal experts.

Gwen Cooper, author of Homer’s Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned about Love and Life with a Blind Wonder Cat, will be in attendance as well as Giles Clark, star of the BBC’s Big Cats About the House, among others.

There will be a feline-themed art show as well as a chance to play with and adopt rescue kittens. More than 50 exhibitors will be displaying their cat-themed wares and there will also be live Indie Rock and Blues music.

Part of the money raised from the event will go to two cat charities, Erham Rescue Centre and Freshfields Animal Rescue Wales.

Last summer’s Catfest drew more than 1,600 people and saw all the cats and kittens in its adoption lounge rehomed.
