A local community orchestra is on the hunt for new musical talent as they gear up for their upcoming Mother’s Day performance.

The South East London Orchestra (SELO), which is based in Beckenham, is currently looking to recruit violin, viola and brass instrument players.

SELO chairman Mike Bradburn said: “We were established in Beckenham in 2012, with a vision of bringing high quality symphonic music to the area whilst providing local amateur musicians with a fun but challenging environment in which to come together and perform.”

The orchestra conducts five concerts a year at St Barnabas Church and rehearse regularly at the Jubilee Churchill Hall, just off the High Street.

The group’s next performance takes place on Sunday, March 11 at 4pm at St Barnabas Church on Perth Road. Tickets cost £10 but are free for those under the age of 16. For more information or to book tickets visit www.southeastlondonorchestra.com
