Police issue warning following Fiat 500 thefts

The police have issued a warning to Fiat 500 owners in Beckenham following a recent spate of vehicle thefts.

A letter to Fiat 500 owners from Copers Cope ward officer, PC Bowyer, stated: “A crime pattern has emerged recently where Fiat 500s are being stolen or parts are being removed from the vehicles. The vehicles are generally targeted overnight and we are asking that you all remain vigilant and take steps to protect your vehicle.”

Resident are being urged to park their vehicles in a garage if possible. Those without a garage or driveway should try and park their vehicles in a well lit area or by a CCTV camera and vehicles should be locked and alarmed at all times.

Yesterday evening (7 January) a male was arrested for the theft of a Fiat 500. However local residents are still being urged to remain cautious.
