As we head in to the last few weeks of the season, Bromley and Beckenham Ladies teams are looking to finish on a high after all putting together some good results in February.

The 5s are in a comfortable 4th place in their league following a draw, win and loss in their last three games, with the 4s replicating these results and currently laying in 3rd place in their respective league.

The 3s continue to excel under the strong leadership of Deborah Lewis and are now six points clear at the top of Kent Division 2 following a 2-1 victory over 2nd placed Tunbridge Wells last week, as Julia Dingley scored the winner in a tight game. A good mixture of youth and experience paving the way to this season’s success.

After a difficult first half of the season, the 2nd XI have bounced back with aplomb – winning five of their six games since Christmas and now holding a solid mid-table position. Captain, Steph Brennan, must take a lot of credit here for turning things around and installing a new sense of confidence amongst a squad that includes a good number of juniors.

After a two-month break, the ladies 1s were back in action and started with a well fought 2-2 draw against table-topping Barnes. Captain, Liz Hawkins, making the England Hockey ‘team of the week’ for an epic double goal-line save to earn the team a point – footage of this feat can be seen on club’s Instagram page.

This was followed by an epic 6-5 victory against Chelmsford, with Player of the Match, Vallisa Armstrong, scoring a brace and moving her up to 2nd in the Investec Womens Hockey League Conference East goal scorer table.

A loss to Bedford in challenging conditions was next before a 5-2 victory against Southgate ensured the teams swapped places and Bromley and Beckenham moved up to 4th with just four games left to go.
